Finding the time for Success

Monday, August 27th, 2007 | Permalink

Most people will tell you they do not have time for things. In reality we have allot of time that we do not manage very well. For example….TV is a WASTE of time….even listening to the radio can be a waste of time. For example…I drive to work everyday and it takes me about 20-30 mins each way.
Now I could turn on the radio and listen to the newest song by 50 cent or some random talk show. Or I could be productive and listen to a business book or self improvement CD, tape or whatever. The idea is to make good use of time.
I run a Dual Monitor Setup on my pc, simply because I can do more with 2 screens then with just 1, I can reply to emails quicker and copy paste ect…compare much faster thi way then if I was wasting time switching between screens.
All of these details are what create more time In the day. I see it like this…if you are going to be stuck on the road, a plane or doing something…even cleaning your car. How can you use that time to do more then 1 thing.
Or even, outsource…..for example…I have a recipe site and a Lyric site. They both need content to make it work. Well there is no way I will make any money with no content. There is also no way I will spend hours after hours adding content since I have many things to do. So we need to be smart and either find a way to get content added by users, or from a feed or outsource. Simply find someone to do the dirty work for you and manage them. It may cost you upfront but over time it will pay for itself.

My Affiliate Site – Another Online Experiment in financial Freedom

Saturday, August 25th, 2007 | Permalink

Ok So I will everyone in on the Affiliate Site I was working on! It is HowMuchFor.com, to save myself time I just used the same application that runs this site and made a few tweaks to the site to change some wording. So the idea here is an affiliate link site mixed with adsense. So Instead of driving traffic to the Specific affiliate sites,. I send them to my site where I have a chance of getting a click on adsense as well as possibly selling something. This also lets me brand the site as its own place, for return traffic and what to say someone comes from a ringtone ad and ends up going to a clothing site to buys shoes…. This is my Walmart of a website..
Â

I am thinking of doing specific pages for each merchant so visitors can rate and leave reviews about them. This would also give me more pages for a chance of getting some free traffic. This is by far time consuming but like anything else could really work out as a good online revenue source.
Â

I am also adding a newletter so that I can send out the deals the merchants are offering. Just another free way to generate both revenue and traffic.

My Daily Routine

10:30-11 Walking into the Office
Ok..made it to the office and parked in the garage the very first thing I do is open up Outlook and start letting the emails drop in.

12pm-2:00
During this task I multi task everything. I jump between Monitoring my travel sites sales, dealing with issues. Reply to printnpost author emails. Post Ads to market the site. Watch my spend on yahoo ads, check adsense earnings and reports.
2:00 – 2:10 Eat something, I don’t really take a lunch break. I just eat and keep going

2:11pm-7ish

I just keep at it with multi tasking and managing different websites. The total is about 8 to be exact. Some require more attention then others but it varies on the site and what’s going on that day. I also try to check for any interesting blogs or new things going on in the web world…I might try to think of a cool domain and buy it on godaddy.com

7ish -10:30pm I either decided to drive to my Girls house to spend some quality time and just chill or I keep at it with reviewing reports, stats, and everything you read about me doing.

11ish-1:30am  I get back online at home and check the outcome for the day and try to find a new way to make some extra dollars. or read about something someone else does….I’ll even listen to some web radio talk shows about making money while I go to bathroom. I feel like I don’t have enough time so I try to do many things at once.

1:30-2AM I start to crash about this time and just call it a night and head to bed.of coarse I take one last look at my adsense, traffic stats and if any last minute emails come in…It is actually 1;18 as I  type this up.

Selling Ebooks, A Turn-Key biz

Sunday, August 19th, 2007 | Permalink

So, I have been getting myself more and more into affiliate marketing and I was real excited when I saw my first sales but I am even more excited with the ebooks results I have seen. In only 2 days of selling ebooks online, I already made more then 3 weeks of affiliate sales. Maybe it is beginners luck or I am a natural at this. Either way, I like the results so far, I have made a sale of at least $31 everyday for 4 days now. It will not buy me a new house or Ferrari but I think I’m on to something. Once I setup the marketing campaign for the ebook I have selected, it is 100% turnkey with little effort. I know I still need to get more into analytics of the sale to fine tune my expense vs income but even without doing this im being profitable

Seeking OutSourcing for Web Development?

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007 | Permalink

If you need development done but can pay the high prices, Check out www.Rentacoder.com it’s Free, very easy to use and straight forward. You create your profile and list your job/project and then you will start to receive bids offers and comments/questions for the developers on the site. Obviously you should review all candidates and ask for examples of previous work or references. This site can really help cut the cost of development to a 4th or 5th of what you have paid here in the states.

I cut out a some of the about us section which breaks down how it works. Also check out the ticket with live offers on the site

How does it work?

Buyers often need custom software developed to enhance their business or for personal use. These buyers post their projects on the Rent a Coder’s web site, along with a maximum amount that they are willing to pay. The project is seen by 181,555 coders world-wide and they place their bids on doing the work. The buyer can browse through each bidder’s resume, certifications and previous work history (including comments left by previous buyers) on the site.
When the buyer finds a coder they like, they can hire them on the spot. To make the transaction a safe one, the buyer does not pay the coder directly, but escrows the funds into a special Rent A Coder account. This guarantees to the coder that the buyer is credit-worthy, and also reassures the buyer, because the coder receives no money until the work is completed. When the work (or pre-agreed on portion of the work) is completed…the buyer release the funds to the coder. When the work is completed, both parties rate the other party to help future buyers and coders on the site.
Should a problem arise, the Rent a Coder facilitator will step in to help out. Should a dispute occur, the facilitator arbitrates according to the rules of the site to ensure a fair and equitable outcome for both parties.
How does Rent a Coder make money?
Rent a Coder makes money as a percentage fee of the final transaction amount. This fee is 15% and taken from the coder. It goes to pay credit card transaction fees, gateway fees, arbitration fees, affiliate fees, advertising fees and the remainder is the company’s profit.
